Two and a half minutes

"Oh, my friend, it's not what they take away from you that counts. It's what you do with what you have left." Hubert Humphrey

I am seeing a muscle activation specialist here in Chicago

I see him every week and he is getting muscles back that have been dormant for a decade

It’s a neuromuscular process

Mind and body

Reconnecting

Returning

Remembering

I need to rebuild what has been lost and atrophying

It’s been six months and I can now get back on my Peloton bike

Three times a week

Non consecutive days

Adding two and half minutes a week

Yep, two and half minutes, not a second more or less

It’s to build the muscles back gradually so they don’t fatigue

It’s exciting but excruciatingly slow

After a loss, you deal with what’s left

You have to move on

You learn to adapt

You are changed

If there is something in your life that’s over

Forgotten

Perhaps long thought broken

What if you used two and half minutes to work on it

Revive it

Rediscover it

Remember it

Would two and half minutes matter

Could it reclaim something in your life

In your soul

What if you sat and prayed

Added two and half minutes to your meditation

To your workout

To your quite time

What if you added two and half minutes a week to reading a book

Or talking face to face with someone you love

Skype if not in person

What if it did matter

What if it was enough to start with

Build on

Use as a launching pad

A reconnecting

A returning

A revival

Yes, two and half minutes

Mind and body

Let’s see what can be reawakened and reimagined
