Disco ball of hope

“Hope is definitely not the same thing as optimism. It is not the conviction that something will turn out well, but the certainty that something makes sense, regardless of how it turns out.” Vaclav Havel

If it’s true that we pick our curriculum here on this Earth school
That we are spiritual beings having a human experience
Then that would mean we choose what we want to learn
Which means we pick our classes
We pick our teachers
We decide our life
What would that look like if we had this knowledge?
How would you think about your life if you thought you had pre planned it?
I read once that if everyone you knew put their troubles in a pile and everyone got to look, everyone would take their own back
I believe that’s true
I know lots of people with way worse going on and they wouldn’t have traded with me in the wheelchair
It’s definitely something to ponder
Some way of making sense out of what doesn’t make sense
It’s like the quote that says “a disco ball is hundreds of pieces of broken glass put together to make a magical ball of light. You aren't broken. You are a disco ball."
What a fantastic way to look at the broken parts of our lives
The if onlys
The what ifs
That all the pieces still matter
They have been refitted into a new thing
Reimagined and repurposed
The great C.S. Lewis said "Getting over a painful experience is much like crossing monkey bars. You have to let go at some point in order to move forward."
My dancing days may be behind me
But, my life and all the little pieces of me can still shine a light and a lot of sparkle
That makes perfect sense to me
