I can’t do much but I can do that

I have been thinking about the small things, that are really big things in the scheme of things, this time of year
If you’re in line at the grocery and somebody only has a handful of things, let them go first
If somebody is behind you with one or two things, add them to your bill and just don’t say anything and smile when they realize what you’ve done
If you can’t do that
You can open the door for somebody
Let somebody out in front of you in traffic
One of my absolute favorite things to do is to complement a stranger
It could be a hairstyle, the color of a shirt, their shoes
But, do it and watch their face light up
One of the best things is if they are in a group
Immediately everybody in the group smiles and chimes in too
It’s like a joy multiplier
It reverberates through everybody and connects you to all of them
And the person you compliment, smiles so big and has a pep in their step they didn’t have before
And you know what?
You will too
Wayne Dyer says, “Abundance is not something we acquire. It is something we tune into.”
I completely agree with him
This time of year is so hard for so many
It’s my first Christmas without my dad
It is the first for so many without a loved one
So, I think if we could just get in the habit of being nicer than we think we should be
More considerate of the people around us than we have been
And get tuned into the abundance all around us
That would be a gift we could all use
