One moment at a time
We get this one incredible moment
And then it’s gone
But, then another comes
And then it’s gone
Over and over right in front of us
Is our life
I read somewhere recently the reason why cell phones can’t capture a stunning full moon or a beautiful sunrise is because it’s meant to be experienced live in person, a phone just can’t capture that kind of moment
I recently started re-listening to a Michael Singer course I took last year, on Living From a Place of Surrender
In one of the sessions he talks about the universe forming 13.86 billion years ago and how to even be here as a human, living today, is a miracle
What our ancestors had to go through
What they survived
Ice ages and dinosaurs and world wars and plagues and they had to find just the right person to marry to create a lineage that eventually led to you
Miraculous indeed
And that this moment right in front of us that took over 13 billion years to get here, is absolutely perfect as it is
How could we ever complain knowing the history behind this moment, right now?
It’s a lot to contemplate
It takes time to consider how differently we could live our lives
Our aware we can be
How in awe we could be
Over all of it
The miracles that unfold over and over
Every day
Every heartbeat and every breath is a miracle
Everyday we get another chance to make life better
If we all lived with the knowledge of what it took to make this day what it is, the person in front of us would never be a bother
The line we are standing in, wouldn’t be a hassle
The way we talk to each other, would be kinder
I lost the ability to talk, for almost a year
I couldn’t utter anything but a soft whisper
Impossible to hear me at a restaurant
Difficult over the phone
Thanks to a silicone implant in my vocal cord, I have a voice again and every day I’m grateful that I can use it
Michael may or may not agree
The point is, it’s all so fragile
And fleeting
Everyone always says, they just want to be happy
What if the key to that, was not making the moment in front of you wrong or bad
Or trying to change it from what it is
To let the moment unfold
And then to let the next one come and go
Without judgment or blame
On and on throughout our lives
Living each moment as it is
How miraculous a life like that could be
