Take fun seriously
Take fun seriously
I heard that recently and it really resonated with me
So, I’ll ask you
When was the last time you had fun?
When is the last time you sat outside and had an ice cream cone or played a board game?
Or listened to the music from when you were in high school
What would it look like if you were to hang a disco ball in your garage and back your car out to throw a dance party for yourself and maybe the neighbors
Put crepe paper up and fill up a punch bowl, why not?
There is just so much that’s heavy these days
Lots of things distract us from the fact that our time here is short
Everyday matters
Each choice you make, matters
Are you really engaged in your life?
Or are you just going through the motions
I believe we were put here to thrive not just survive
When was the last time you laughed?
I have a friend, Rachel, who used to say that we could be in an empty room with a ball and we’d have fun
She was right and we had fun everywhere we went
I think as adults we forget what we used to do to have fun
We forget about flying a kite
Walking in the grass barefoot
Watermelon and water balloons
We have a summer before us like none other
We have a lot of unknowns
But, you have the day in front of you to make the most of
If you are able to get outside and just enjoy yourself
Do it
Play hopscotch
Jump rope
Find a body of water whether it’s a lake or pool or the Pacific
And just float and watch the clouds go by
What shapes do they look like?
Find a farmers market and buy tomatoes and peaches
It’s so fun to taste something that good, that is only around for a short time
Fun is always a state of mind and
It’s always available
Because wherever you go, there you are
Be the person that lights up a room when you enter it
Summer days lay ahead of us and they are long
Whether you play, sing, dance, swim or skip
Just make sure that it’s fun, seriously
