Where you at man

The other night, I saw Wynton Marsalis give an interview.
He was talking about losing his dad and he said,”In our grief and in our lives we need to embrace our space. That we have to be process oriented and deliberate, that’s how you master the moment.” Then he was asked about what his dad would say, “where you at man, what are you going to do? The thing you’re talking about doing, are you doing it? See if you are who you thought you were before we all had to deal with this.”
When everything is normal, it’s easy to be positive
Words from a wise man
Where you at man
That question is profound
It’s also weird to think about when we are all, right here
At home, going nowhere
But, inside, where are you?
Are you embracing your space
Are you mastering the moments of your life
Are you being deliberate in who you are
“Because the little things? The little moments? They are not little.” Thank you, Jon Kabit Zinn
Feel them instead of filling them
You are not your job
You are not your beliefs or where you live
You are the one inside
The one that looks back from the mirror
You are the one that’s looking
The only real you there is
It’s where your power and light come from
It’s where prayers emanate
It is the awareness of your soul
So, what if the eggshells you are walking on do break?
If you are worried and let’s be honest, who isn’t
How do you cope?
Do you lay down your burdens or do you carry them everywhere?
William James said, “The greatest discovery of any generation is that a human can alter his life by altering his attitude."
So, where you at man
Dig deep if you need to
But, find yourself
Be right here
In this present moment
aware and altered
