X Marks the Spot
X marks the spot
It’s always where the treasure is on a map
The buried chest of gold
It’s where you want to be
But, it also marks where you are
Just look at any directory, in any mall in America
The X is where you are standing
What if you are what you’ve been searching for?
The peace you’ve craved, what if you already have it?
The joy you desire, what if it’s already in there?
This collective quarantine can be a treasure hunt
Into who you really are
Start looking into yourself
For the treasure of your life
Who are you?
What are you hoping for?
Giving away?
Wanting to move away from?
Wanting to start?
Dive in
Be curious
Ask yourself questions
Answer them
Even if all you are certain of, is uncertainty
Asking questions is critical
Understanding yourself for yourself is necessary
Our souls desire is to be known
To be seen and to be heard
We crave connection in a deep way
We’ve all had times of our life where we can’t stop to think
We’re in fast forward and busy, busy, busy
But, now not so much
Sit back and just breathe, allow this in
Our real value comes from inside us
The holy grail we have always been seekin
Where we live and stand and sleep is all holy ground
What if, what did for ourselves and the ones we love was all an act of service
Of love
Honoring it all
The only thing we control is our attitude
That’s it
We can pray, beg, rant and rave
It won’t change a thing
But, our attitude can change everything
We can see grace everywhere or nowhere
It’s a choice
Albert Einstein says “There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle.”
There is a Sufi poem that says; every leaf of a tree becomes the page of a sacred book, when the heart is open
The Bible says that where our heart is, there will be our treasure
When you cross your heart to promise something
X just marked the spot
A buried chest of gold
Right where you are standing
