Deeper love
I would imagine for those of you quarantined with loved ones you are noticing something happening
Something deepening
Something settling
Softening
I noticed this when I had to be home all the time 10 years ago
Michael and I were always going and doing and didn’t sit still
When all I could do was sit, the situation changed
I initially fought against my new reality
I squirmed and screamed
Pleaded and cried
It changed nothing
But, Michael did
He became softer
He and I bonded over the days and months in a way I never thought possible
We settled into each other and our life like never before
The love we started out with would go so much deeper
It sustained me and I believe kept me alive
I’m guessing for you, the first few weeks of this were novel
Then the annoying phase comes in
But, by now there is a settling
A new routine
Some of you are in states that are reopening
Some of us have another month of this lockdown
But, I hope everyone feels a little more bonded
More enamored with your friends and families
More engaged with your own life and choices
This is a deeper love
One that settles you
Cares for you in a way that you never thought possible
A love that creates a new life and a new direction
Before we all go racing back into life and they way we were
Sit back and see what’s good
See the person or people you love
Really see them
Sometime we get a pause button in life
Use it for good
Maya Angelou said “We are all at once both a composition and a composer. We have the ability not only to compose the future of our own lives, but to help compose the future of everyone around us and the communities in which we live.”
Go deeper
Settle in
Soften to your life
Say, thank you
And compose something beautiful, for all of us
