I am right here

I am right here
They are very comforting words to hear
From your mom or dad when you were little
Or from a friend when you are in need of one
Michael says it to me all the time
I am right here
When I first got sick and everything was falling apart
I told him to go
Get a new wife that wasn’t broken
Start over
He had my blessing and I’d never blame him
He said it then
I am right here and I am not going anywhere
Now, years later when I still struggle
I can’t open something
Tie
Button
Zip something
Struggle within myself about what I’m supposed to be doing with my life
He says it again
I am right here
It’s instantly soothing
It’s words we are wired to hear
That we are not alone
That we are seen
It’s also a helpful way to get into the present moment
A reminder in the mirror
See yourself in the reflection
And say, I am right here
You will feel yourself get present, right then
Writing these weekly emails has been cathartic
It’s been a great place to reflect and remember and share some of what I’ve learned along the way
I may not have many answers
But I am aware that we all are going through something
All the time
So, if you ever need to share or reach out
Please do
I am right here
