I pick myself up

I pick myself up
Dust myself off and
Start all over again

There is an old song that has been stuck in my head today
This song has been done by some giants in the music industry; Nat King Cole, Fred Astaire, Frank Sinatra to name just a few but it is the Dianne Krall version that I hear today
Probably because it came out in the 90’s and I had her CD
In the song one of the stanzas goes
Nothing's impossible I have found
For when my chin is on the ground
I pick myself up
Dust myself off
Start all over again

It’s easy to get the last three lines on repeat if you need it
And today, I do
I am clear that I have made it through 100% of all my bad days
We’ve all made it through them or we wouldn’t be here
But, this grief has me unsettled right now
I know what I’m supposed to say and do
I know that this too shall pass
I will pick myself up because it’s how I’m made
I will dust myself off because it’s what I do
And I’ll start all over again because I know whenever life feels like this
It’s time but I’ll do it tomorrow
Tomorrow is another day that’s not promised but it does hold a lot of hope
Even Scarlett O'Hara said, “After all, tomorrow is another day!"
A life can change in a day
And if you’re like me today, with your chin on the ground
Then it’s lucky us because there is nowhere to go but up
Life always offers you a second chance
It's called tomorrow
I’ll see you there after I’ve dusted myself off
And we can start all over again
