Meant to be

“The Spirit whispers, the ancestors agree.
You are star born and God loved;
The universe awaits
your gifts.”
Barbara Holmes

We watched a movie on Netflix called, The Dig
It was a beautiful story set in England right before WW2
There’s a line in it that the main character says-
“It’s what life wants revealed, it’s why we dig.”
I don’t know why that’s stuck with me
Why I got up to write it down
Why days later I’m still musing over it
What life wants revealed
Like no matter what we do, what we are supposed to do will happen
I’ve always heard that nothing is ever wasted
That what’s meant to be, will be
But, it’s hard to remember that when life goes decidedly different than you planned
I’m so grateful to be better
I’m so grateful for my life
But, this isn’t the plan I had
Paul Coelho says “Maybe the journey isn't so much about becoming anything. Maybe it's about un-becoming everything that isn't really you, so you can be who you were meant to be in the first place."
I like that
It keeps me believing that it’s all ok and everything will work out
That what I miss about working and having a store will somehow show up, somewhere else
Something I’ve been born for
That my ancestors would agree to
This long liminal space I’ve lived in
With a spouse who’s now at Saint status
Loved tremendously by family and friends
Will be the incubator for me to un-become who I used to be
And turn into who I was always meant to be
