Who’s talking?
I read the other day that we have three ways of speaking
With our mouths
With our hearts
With our souls
When we speak with our mouths, most of us just want to say our truth
As we see it
And it can come out harsh
We cajole
Coerce
Convince
We hear with our ears but we also feel the vibrations in our bodies
My brother always says, “you can be right or you can be happy”
Your words will determine which one you want
Words have a lot of power and my mouth has gotten me into a lot of trouble
Many, many times
My mom used to tell me, that saying nothing is a very powerful way to say something
When we speak from our hearts
There is a gentleness and no need to be right
We are concerned with kindness and how we will be heard
You can disagree but not get hostile
There is a story here, not a sermon
Most of us could live a very sweet life
Speaking with our hearts
But, when you speak from your soul
You are just there
Feeling connected
Honoring who’s in front of you
Differences don’t matter
Dialogue isn’t important
You just feel alive and well and harmony is upmost
You can’t harm anyone this way
You can’t say anything you’ll regret
It’s a love that radiates out
Words from this place feel like a balm
Your soul knows who needs to hear something from you
Your soul knows what to say and how to say it
The words will feel as good as they sound
And they will be true, kind and necessary
Always
